Riccardo Fregoso (born 1981) is a French-Italian photographer, represented by studiofaganel (Gorizia), and creative director, currently working as chief creative officer at Dentsu Creative Italy.

He graduated in Philosophy and Aesthetics at the University of Bologna and the Sorbonne in Paris, and in communication at Hyper Island in Stockholm.

In 2020 Riccardo is Finalist at Emergentes International Photography Award, and his Covid Visual Diary project is selected by Contrasto. Adriatico, a 3 years long research across the Adriatic coast in Italy, is first published by Subjectively Objective, Detroit.

Adriatico is Commended at the Siena Creative Photo Award in 2021, and it’s published by Perimetro. His research about the G8 summit of Genoa (Genova 2001: Esserci) is published by Perimetro and is exhibited by Elita in Milan.

In 2022 his photographic work is awarded by the Ragusa Photo Festival (Special Mention), and is published by various Italian and international magazines (Elle Decor, Zone Mag, Mare Germany, Bengala). His project Winter Light is exhibited at the Black Box Gallery, Portland. Riccardo also took part into the United photographers for Ukraine initiative, and was a jury member of the Perimetro Photo Awards.

Adriatico is the subject of his first photographic book, published by Kerber Verlag (Berlin), in July 2022, in 700 copies. The book was launched in Milan by MiCamera Bookstore and in Paris during Paris Photo 2022, and is distributed in Europe, the UK and the United States (Leporello, Yvon Lambert, Do you read me?).

As creative director, Riccardo has served on international juries (Cannes Lions, New York Festival, LIA), and was jury president of at the Italian Art Directors Club, where he is also a member of the executive committee as International Ambassador. Riccardo has received more than 200 international awards, including 27 Cannes Lions and 10 D&AD Pencil.
