Riccardo Fregoso (born 1981) is a French-Italian photographer, represented by studiofaganel, and creative director, currently working as chief creative officer at dentsu.
He graduated in Philosophy and Aesthetics at the University of Bologna and the Sorbonne in Paris, and in communication at Hyper Island in Stockholm. He’s lecturer at IED (European Institute of Design) in Milan, for the Master in Creative Direction.
Adriatico is the subject of his first photographic book, published by Kerber Verlag (Berlin). The book was launched in Paris at Paris Photo, and is distributed in Europe, the US and Japan. Adriatico has been nominated best photo book of 2022 by Artribune.
As a filmmaker, Riccardo's first commercial video, Summer Hits Symptoms, created for Spotify in 2024, won Best Use of Music at the Clio Music Awards. He’s now developing a short film, a surrealist tale based on a Brothers Grimm classic, in collaboration with French production Birth.
Riccardo has served on international juries (Cannes Lions, New York Festival, LIA), and was jury president of at the Italian Art Directors Club, where he is also a member of the executive committee as International Ambassador. Riccardo has received more than 200 international awards, including 29 Cannes Lions and 10 D&AD Pencil.
